The first medal decisions at the IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships have been made: Maksim Fomin (LTU) and Selina Marie Kastl (GER) are the Junior World Champions in Super Sprint.
Maksim Fomin showed an impressive shooting performance in the final and took the lead with a flawless series of hits. Fabian Kaskel (GER) had to go into penalty loop after three misses but still managed to keep up. He deservedly took silver. Maxime Germaine was close on his heels and took bronze.
In the junior women's race Selina Marie Kastl won against Lena Repinc (SLO) and Lora Hristova (BUL) with a strong performance despite three penalty rounds.
