Taking the train to the World Cup

More trains and better rates

Monday, January 9, 2017

For a comfortable trip to the stadium, we recommend arriving by train. There is an hourly train between Ruhpolding and Traunstein, and there will be additional trains before and after the races timed to coincide with the races.  There is a free shuttle bus between the Ruhpolding train station and the Chiemgau Arena. Nothing stands in the way of arriving without traffic congestion!

For more information about arriving by train, as well as the current train schedule visit here.

As in previous years, the train ride from Traunreut, Waging, Traunstein and Siegsdorf to Ruhpolding and back is free for everyone with a day ticket for that day and for all accredited helpers.

The TRAUN-ALZ-TICKET which costs 6€  is an attractive offer for many other visitors: the day ticket for one adult allows all his or her own children and grandchildren up to 14 years old unlimited travel on the train between Traunstein and Ruhpolding, Waging and Traunreut (starting after 8:00 a.m. Monday – Friday ). The second to fifth additional adults only pay  3€. If you are traveling from further away, we recommend the Bayern Ticket for up to 5 people.

For Night Owls:

So that there is enough time for the opening ceremonies, the award ceremonies or even just to enjoy a cup of mulled wine at the Championspark, the late train leaves Ruhpolding every night at 00:03 during the biathlon week. On the night of Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday there will be an additional train at 1:00 a.m.
