Ruhpolding is well prepared for the upcoming Biathlon World Cup

Extended hours at the stadium and taking the Bus & Train to the World Cup

Sunday, January 7, 2018

Since especially on the weekend, we are expecting increased numbers of visitors, and therefore heavy traffic, we recommend allowing extra time for travel. For this reason we are altering the stadium opening hours:

Wednesday to Friday from 11:00 to 18:00

Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00

Sunday from 08:00 to 17:00

We also recommend arriving by train which runs daily approximately every hour between Traunstein and Ruhpolding, with additional trains scheduled before and after the respective competitions. There is a free shuttle bus between the train station in Ruhpolding and Siegsdorf and the Chiemgau Arena. Thus nothing stands in the way of hassle-free travel.

You can find more information about traveling by train as well as the current train schedule >>here.

The shuttle buses from Ruhpolding, Inzell and Siegsdorf to and from the Chiemgau Arena, as well as train rides between Traunstein, Waging, Traunreut, Siegsdorf and Ruhpolding are free of charge with an admission ticket to the races.

For Night Owls:

To ensure enough time to attend the opening or award ceremonies, or just to enjoy a Glühwein in the Champions Park, the late train will depart from Ruhpolding at 00:03 daily during the biathlon week. On Friday and Saturday night, there will be an additional train at 01:00 for the night owls. Wednesday through Saturday, the local bus (Ruhpoldinger Dorflinie) departs for the last time from the Ruhpolding train station at 21:30 and the last bus to Inzell leaves at 22:00. We recommend hiring a taxi if you plan to stay out later.
