Time to say goodbye!

This year, there had been fantastic, thrilling and fulminant races, one could experience at the “old” Chiemgau Arena for the last time. You could feel a sparkling thrill due to the fantastic close vicinity of spectator area to the shooting range. Nevertheless this unique closeness will be conserved, after tearing down the old Chiemgau Arena mid of March and rebuilding the stadium with its buildings at the same location – but then the new arena will be up to date, more modern and even bigger.
There had been several records this year: a new record of spectators with almost 95.000, completely sold-out advanced ticketing on Saturday, almost 1.000 volunteers, the first Swedish victory in the women relay ever, Bjoerndalens  eleventh victory in the mass start competition, four German women finished their mass start competition in a row beginning with the second place, and so on …
We say thank you to all the spectators, particularly to all volunteers, pol ice men, fire-fighters, the members of the mountain rescue team and the Red Cross and to all parties concerned.

Good bye, see you all here in the new rebuilt Chiemgau Arena in the next year!
