The grand opening ceremony on Tuesday evening again drew several thousand spectators to the Championspark.

Spectacular fireworks and impressive performances were the themes of the opening ceremony on January 8th in the Ruhpolding Championspark. Following the biathlon World Championships last year, the world is again watching the Biathlon Mecca of the Chiemgau for a few days.

During the last few days, the snow depot was spread out over two kilometers. Thereby, both the skating and classic trails have been transformed into realistic winter conditions.

The official Biathlon World Championships DVD is available beginning October 1, 2012

The Biathlon World Championships in Ruhpolding were the biggest festivities this sport has seen so far. That was reason enough to capture those 12 magical days on DVD. The upcoming World Cup will once again feature night races

A few days ago, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) announced the starting times for the Biathlon World Cup which will take place from 8 to 13 January, 2013 in Ruhpolding. This year the races will begin in the late afternoons and continue to nightfall.
